Brand new for fall - cuff bracelets made from my own handcrafted wool felt and etched copper!
To make the wool felt, I lay out loose wool roving (the fibers that are typically spun into yarn) into a pattern. I then add water and olive oil soap and manipulate the fibers by working the soapy water into it and rolling into bubble wrap.
I keep working the fibers until it becomes a sheet of felt.
For the bracelets, I cut the finished felt into strips.
I then rivet on a piece of my etched copper and add a snap.
Worn alone or stacked with other bracelets, these add the perfect bit of texture now that the weather is turning cooler. Each one is unique and one of a kind, so find your favorite! Shop felted bracelets

I've been wearing my sterling silver Fatima Earrings practically every day, so I guess you could say they've become my favorite. I thought I'd give you a peak into my studio as I go through the process of making them...

First I create the hoops out of wire and solder them together. I then hammer them to give a bit of texture.

I create each of the little baubles out of wire and use a torch to form them into little balls.

They are then pickled in a sodium bisulfate solution to remove oxides and fire scale caused by the torch.

They come out nice and white.

I tumble them to harden and shine them up (even though I mess up the shine later!)

From the tumbler, they go into the liver of sulfur solution to blacken them.

Nicely blackened...

I use steel wool to remove most of the oxidation to give them nice depth.

Another brief roll in the tumbler to brighten them up...

All done!
