With all of the the excitement of a new year and new possibilities, I have decided to go ahead and release my spring line a bit early. I'll admit, I'm just a little over-eager simply because this is my first seasonal line, and I'm excited about all of the new designs. The good thing about jewelry is that even though it's my "spring" line, you can still wear it while there's snow on the ground. Brand new for fall - cuff bracelets made from my own handcrafted wool felt and etched copper!

To make the wool felt, I lay out loose wool roving (the fibers that are typically spun into yarn) into a pattern. I then add water and olive oil soap and manipulate the fibers by working the soapy water into it and rolling into bubble wrap.

I keep working the fibers until it becomes a sheet of felt.

For the bracelets, I cut the finished felt into strips.

I then rivet on a piece of my etched copper and add a snap.

So, how was your weekend? Mine was pretty low-key, however I did attend a ballet performance of Cinderella. It was my first ballet... I can't say it's something I'd be into doing often, but it was a fun time.

I've been messing around with leather here and there for a while now, mainly just trying different techniques of attaching it to the metal to see what I liked best. My favorite method so far is using these rivets, because they are secure, and I think they look cool. This bracelet was inspired by my Celeste Bracelet, which uses the same teardrop hook. I really like the colors on this one... almost has a nautical feel to me! So, what do you think? Are you diggin' the leather?
